Empty Bowls Project

Tickets for the February 28, 2012 charity event go on sale October 1st.

What is it all about?

The Pottery Room has teamed up with the local chapter of the Empty Bowls project to fight hunger in Clarksville. Each bowl you pay for and paint will help feed needy folks here in Clarksville. The bowls will be sold at a charity dinner to raise money for the project.

The Project's Goal

  • From the Empty Bowls project website

“...our goals are to raise money to help organizations fight hunger, to raise awareness about the issues of hunger and food security, and to help bring about an attitude that will not allow hunger to exist.”

  •

  • The Pottery Room's Goals

    • Paint 400 bowls this year to help feed the hungry right here in Clarksville

    • We painted 217 bowls for the February, 2011 charity diner event and we would like to double that for the 2012 season. The charity diner this year will be held on February 28, 2012.

What Does it Cost?

$10 per bowl plus tax

Bowls can be completed at any time during the year, but to get them to the 2012 charity dinner we need them done by the 21st of February. We will glaze and fire these bowls and deliver them to the organizations who will fill them for the needy.

These are some examples of the bowls from a recent group of charitable painters.
