Empty Bowls

There is a wonderful "grassroots" movement growing around the country with the mission of feeding the hungry, disadvantaged and homeless and it's called “EMPTY BOWLS.” The effort is based on the international Empty Bowls program, where potters and craftspeople, educators and other volunteers work with individuals and groups to create handcrafted bowls.

The community is invited to a simple meal of soup and bread. In exchange for a $15.00 cash donation, guests are asked to select a bowl as a reminder of all the empty bowls in our community. The bowls serve as a reminder that there are always empty bowls in the world. Empty Bowls Clarksville is a community project that supports two non-profit organizations in the Clarksville Area. Loaves & FishesUrban Ministries and Grace Assistance Food Bank benefit from the annual Empty Bowls event in Clarksville.

Bowls are available at The Pottery Room year round to paint and donate. We welcome larger parties. Please call us to schedule a time for your group to paint for Empty Bowls.
