Private Pottery Wheel Classes

Interested in learning to throw your own pottery on the wheel? We offer PRIVATE wheel classes at our studio! Our potter will teach you the basics of clay, use of the pottery wheel, how to center the clay on the wheel, how to pull the clay into a bowl or cylinder, and how to alter your piece using your hands or simple tools if you choose. 

We offer special events with limited number of classes each month. We post the events on Facebook, so be sure to follow our page. You can also call the studio to get details about upcoming events. 

This class is especially designed for those who have never used the wheel or who are working on basic skills. Beginning students will learn how to center a ball of clay and shape it into a cylinder. Students who have taken a class previously, may choose to learn techniques to make more complicated forms and hone in their skills.  This class is a great opportunity for students of all levels to explore clay on the potter’s wheel in a fun and creative atmosphere.

PRICING

$65+tax - individuals (ages 13+)

$55+tax - kids (ages 6-12)

$30 non-refundable deposit MUST be prepaid to reserve your slot.

This fee will be applied to the cost of the class payable at time of session. 

Class fee includes use of clay and pottery wheel, individual private class instruction by our potter, creation of two items that will be fired and ready to paint after two weeks, use of paints and glazing and firing of finished piece. Handles, extra clay, and use of specialty glazes will incur an additional charge. Finished pottery pieces not painted and picked up within 60 days will be discarded.

Please wear appropriate clothing for getting messy, trim your fingernails, tie back long hair and remove any watches or jewelry from hands and wrists.

Group Hand-Building Classes

Occasionally we offer classes where you can learn to turn a ball of clay into a piece of art. Classes are tailored to the beginner, so don't be afraid to sign up. Some classes are better suited for older children and adults.

Prices vary depending on the size and complexity of the piece being created. The cost of the class includes returning after approximately two weeks to paint, all glazing and firing. Space is limited, so we ask that you register in advance to reserve your spot.

CANCELLATION

No refund of deposit or class fee if you do not attend the class. If you cannot make it to scheduled class for whatever reason, it is best to give your reservation to a friend or family member. This way you don’t have to forfeit your payment.

For the safety of your child, we do not allow children under the age of 15 to be left unattended at our studio while painting or attending classes.
